FRISCO – Junior middle hitter Stefanie Robbins was named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Robbins helped lead UTSA to pair of wins last week, including a come-from-behind five-setter at McNeese State on Wednesday and the program’s first against Stephen F. Austin since Oct. 26, 2000, three days later.

The Three Rivers native opened the week with a 13-kill, six-block effort, as the Roadrunners rallied from 2-0 deficit against the Cowgirls in Lake Charles, La.

She then hit .455 on the strength of 11 winners and just one error in 22 swings and added three block assists against the Ladyjacks.

The victory ended SFA’s 13-match win streak and marked the first time it had been swept in a conference match since Oct. 24, 2003.

It is the third weekly award for the Roadrunners this season, as sophomore outside hitter Kendra Rowland was honored on Sept. 15 and freshman libero Kelsey Jewasko two weeks later.

UTSA (13-8, 5-2 SLC) returns to action on Thursday when it travels to Natchitoches, La., to take on Northwestern State (7-11, 2-6).
