In just its first season, the UTSA soccer team stunned the Southland Conference, finishing in second place in the league, one point behind Southeastern Louisiana. The Roadrunners were tabbed seventh in the preseason polls.

     UTSA wrapped up its regular season with an 8-8-2 overall record and a 5-1-2 SLC mark. The Roadrunners, winners of four of their five games, will be the No. 2 seed at the 2006 Southland Conference Tournament on Nov. 2-5 in San Marcos. The Runners earned a first-round bye and will play the winner of the Stephen F. Austin and McNeese State game at 7 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 3 at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.

First Round – Thursday, November 2

Game One – No. 3 Stephen F. Austin vs. No. 6 McNeese State – 4:30 p.m.

Game Two – No. 4 Northwestern State vs. No. 5 Texas State – 7 p.m.


Semifinal Round – Friday, November 3

Game Three – Game One Winner vs. No. 2 Texas-San Antonio – 7 p.m.

Game Four – Game Two Winner vs. No. 1 Southeastern Louisiana €” 4:30 p.m.


Final – Sunday, November 5

Game Five €” Game Three Winner vs. Game Four Winner – Championship Game – 1p.m.
