It was a strong season for the UTSA men’s tennis team as they went to the WAC semifinals before being eliminated.

“With the move into the WAC, we definitely saw an increase in competition. I thought our team responded well and accepted the challenge. The results were pretty good, but we had a tough loss in the WAC Tournament to Idaho, a quality team that we had beat just a week earlier,” UTSA Men’s Tennis Head coach Jeff Kader.

UTSA was led by Martin Ayala who was named to the Western Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team.

“I think our team really worked through some challenges during the season and showed the ability to compete at a higher level. We know another step up is coming next season with the move to Conference USA.”
