Baltimore Orioles’ announcers, Joe Angel and Fred Manfra, left an exhibition game between the Orioles and the NY Mets Sunday eight innings early after rain delayed the game for an hour. Apparently, they thought the game was cancelled and their superiors told them to leave. Needless to say, fans were not happy. The Orioles went on to win 5-1. Source: yahoo.com

Former President George W. Bush will throw out the first pitch in the game between the Texas Rangers and the Cleveland Indians on Apr. 6. Only two other presidents have thrown a first pitch at a Rangers’ game: Gerald Ford in 1976, four years after the Rangers left Washington, D.C. for Arlington and George H.W. Bush in 1991. The Senate Judiciary subcommittee said, “the current BCS system leaves nearly half of all the teams in college football at a competitive disadvantage when it comes to qualifying for the millions of dollars paid out every year.” Republican Senator Orrin Hatch from Utah said he would introduce legislation to “rectify this situation.” Source: espn.com

Last night, UNC played Oklahoma in a game that would determine who would advance to the Final Four. The Tar Heels won 72-60, but despite winning the game, UNC’s Tyler Hansbrough had an embarassing one-handed dunk attempt.
