The position of Treasurer in UTSA’s Student Government Association (SGA) for the spring 2014 semester will soon be vacated by current Treasurer Boyd Garriott.

Garriott will be leaving for the Archer Fellowship in Washington D.C., vacating his year-long position.

A special election will be held for the position on Dec. 3 and 4.

Filing for the position can be accomplished through rowdylinks; the deadline to file is Friday Dec. 15.

The treasurer is responsible for managing SGA’s $47,650 budget as well as the $9,000 Leaderfund allocation budget, ensuring all funds are spent according to a budget created by General Assembly, Chair the General Assembly Finance Committee, and more.

“My resignation will be effective January 1, 2014,” said Garriott. “However the special election will occur sooner than that in order for me to pass along the necessary knowledge to the new treasurer. I encourage all interested students to file for election by the deadline this Friday.”
