Unfamiliar with a gyro? A gyro can be best described as an oversized taco. Wrapped in aluminum, it is made with thick bread. Inside are pieces of lamb thinly sliced covered in tzatziki sauce. To top off this “Greek” taco, are diced tomatoes and onion slices. As a side, a Greek salad is served that is just as authentic. They use lettuce leaves, and a sauce could consisting of olive oil and vinegar along with different herbs. Feta cheese, a tomato slice, a black olive and green peppers adorn the top of this salad.

Both the gyro and the salad have an authentic Greek flavor but it is challenging to pin point the exact taste. However, this meal is enough to keep you satisfied, and the best part is that two people can eat for under $20.00. Two lunch meals like this go for $13.95 and that is with taxes.

With this plate a drink is included. If you choose iced tea, refills are bottomless. So enough of the pondering and call up Kostas Greek Food, at 210-590-6969. Orders can be taken in advanced to go.
