Hello all! I hope everyone missed me and had a great Spring Break! With that being said, let’s get straight into it.

Recently, a friend came to me asking if they should join Tinder and I thought this was the perfect topic to talk about, so let me just blog about it.

Let’s face it, dating apps like Tinder, Bumble and so forth have become the new way to meet people and stay in touch. People are constantly on their phones already, might as well make dating readily available on an app.

I could see the appeal for using a dating app, especially if you are not comfortable meeting people face to face yet or just need a safe space to open up to. That’s totally fine! For groups like the LGBTQ+ community, it may be easier to find others through these apps.

I have not have had the greatest amount of luck with dating apps. Firstly, picking out the right photo and creating a bio that’s going to capture someone’s attention is super stressful. Either you pick a photo that you only feel average, or you say too much or say too little in your bio. I shouldn’t feel so anxious about doing that!

Secondly, if you do match with someone, chances are 1.) They are never going to message you 2.) You have one conversation and never hear back from them or 3.) (Which is rare) y’all actually become friends or go on a date.

Again, this is just my experience from using dating apps. Of course other people are going to have the same or different experiences. I am not bashing dating apps, I’m just sharing my thoughts on the matter.

My experience shouldn’t discourage you from trying a new experience. Heck, you may do a lot better than I did, and you can tell me what I did wrong. But no matter what, please stay safe! There are some crazy people that are out there.

Until next week,

AJ
