Thousands are expected to join the AT&T Center in kicking off its inaugural River City Rockfest next month, on Sunday, May 26,. The festival opens its doors at 12 p.m. on AT&T parking lot grounds, which will include acts such as 2013 Grammy Award winning band, Halestorm, Grammy-nominated, Skillet, Bullet For My Valentine, Asking Alexandria, Clutch, The Sword, Young Guns, O’Brother; San Antonio natives, The Heroine and Memory of a Melody, and headliners Guns N’ Roses and Alice in Chains.

This one-day music fest is a big deal for the AT&T Center, as it is the first major rock festival to be hosted by AT&T in San Antonio and is sponsored by Bud Light . The AT&T Center will be sectioning off multiple stages in the parking lot. Plenty of parking will be available. Hard rock fans around the city are anticipating the festival this Memorial Day Sunday, even one of the festival’s very own, Memory of a Melody.

Mario Galdos, front-man of Memory of a Melody admits to being very excited about participating in the first River City Rockfest next month. When asked how he felt about playing a festival being headlined by huge names like Guns N’ Roses and Alice in Chains, Galdos eagerly responded, “It’s huge—beyond words huge. I was completely, elated at the fact that they asked us to play in the festival.” Memory of a Melody (MOAM) is a five-man group that has been performing with their current lineup for about two years. Heavy rockers MOAM currently have one full-length album out, “Things That Make You Scream,” and are looking to release an EP at the end of the year. The group has previously shared the stage with well-known acts such as Chevelle, The Toadies, LIT, and many more. Galdos describes MOAM as a heavy metal/hard rock dynamic group that mixes alternative and pop elements, vocals and guitar solos.

After chatting about some of the most influential bands to the hard rock genre, including Guns N’ Roses and Alice in Chains, Galdos again expresses his excitement, “[I’m] definitely excited; I can’t even put into words how excited I am about, the opportunity to play with some of [these] acts.”

Next month will be an exciting moment for San Antonio rock fans as they begin to flood the grounds of the AT&T center to see some of their favorite bands unite to put on a memorable festival. River City Rockfest will make a historic mark on the rock scene in San Antonio and pave the path for many more rock fests to make fans scream.
