UTSA extended their seven game winning-streak to 10 this past week with victories over Prairie View A&M, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Texas Pan-American.

Tuesday night against the Prairie View A&M Panthers, UTSA swept them in three sets, 25-15, 26-24, 25-11.

The opening set started with a serve by freshman setter Amber Brooks and it was all Roadrunners from there on out. The Runners still took the set 25-15.

The Runners came out with a 5-0 lead in the second set, but the Panthers rallied back to make it an 18-18 tie. With an attack error by Panthers’ Cheri Lindsay, the Runners were able to pull it out 26-24.

The Runners took the third set with authority 25-11. Outside hitter Kendra Rowland added four kills, one assist and two digs in limited playing time. Kelsey Jewasko had five kills, two assists and nine digs. Brooks also had one kill, 26 assists and four digs.

“I don’t think we feel pressure (on upcoming road trip) we like playing together,” Jewasko said. “It’s amazing, it makes our chemistry awesome, just these last two games especially,” Jewasko said about the eight-game winning streak.

In the win over A&M Corpus Christi, the Runners defeated the Islanders in a match that went five sets (25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 25-27, 15-10). Rowland recorded her tenth double-double of the year.
