    Fashion Pass Issue 4

As the weather is changing so is attire here on campus. While students recover from midterms, homecoming and busy work schedules, they begin putting together their pre-fall wardrobe. Since winter is around the corner, it is customary to bring out every fashionably warm piece of clothing.

You can be fabulously warm, professionally snug, toasty street chic or “I woke up like this” layered. Whatever your style, it’s best to start shopping now if you haven’t already. (Future tip: If you want to look great in the winter for a low price, start shopping for your wardrobe a season or two early. Retail stores, online shopping boutiques and outlets are always trying to make room for the incoming season on the shelves and slash prices significantly if products aren’t moving. So make haste to the nearest sales rack and grab a couple of fabulous threads.

Below are a couple of looks from a few stores located near campus that you can mix and match to your own liking. There are also a few red-tag items in the mix that you should definitely snatch before someone beats you to it!

Beyonce + Top Shop = COLLABORATION!

After scrolling through my Instagram timeline, I happened to come across big news for you Beyhive fans. The popular clothing line Top Shop will be teaming up with the R&B superstar to collaborate on an upcoming fitness street wear brand. This does not come as a surprise. Beyonce has been spotted shopping in the LA store, so why not show some Ms. Carter love?

    Will you be buying it?

    Have you seen them?

DKNY is one of my all time favorite brands. It is the Y-E-S to my fashion thirst. Any of you DKNY lovers will be happy to know that the 30-year-old brand will be stocking their online shelves with a blush inspired new collection described as “feminine and flirty color with staying power.” The visual artistry itself is eye candy as Donna Karan plays with textures, frills, fringe, hems and tailoring, while holding firm to the powder pink blush color. Visit DKNY.com to check out more of the collection.

Her line is inspired by the young, talented fashionistas with whom she teamed up.

Cara Delevingne is an English fashion model, socialite, actress and singer. You might have seen her as the face of Burberry in the spring and summer of 2012 or other ad campaigns and catwalks for brands such as H&M, Zara, Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Stella McCartney, Moschino and Victoria’s Secret. What a mouth-full of a resume right? The 22-year-old is currently the face of DKNY bringing her edgy style and personality to the brand.

Vashtie Kola or “Va$htie”, if you’re more familiar with her trademark name, is also bringing life to the DKNY brand. Kola is known as a Downtown New York City style icon. She dabbles in many creative areas ranging from fashion to film and music. You might have seen her model for Billionaire Boys Club or heard about her iconic monthly 90s parties she throws with friend, Oscar Sanchez. The parties are known to spin only music from the late 80s and early 90s and attract celebrities such as Jay-Z, Dave Chappelle, Chanel Iman, KiD CuDi and Zoe Kravitz. The event is simply named 1992. The young entrepreneur owns her own clothing line named VIOLETTE, described as a mix of uptown and downtown, hip-hop and rock, masculine and feminine, casual and couture. (Need I say any more? She was the first female to collaborate with Brand Jordan on her own Jordan sneaker, which sold off the shelves in weeks! Her list of accomplishments goes on. (Check her out at: www.vashite.com)

With so much style in the NYC, it’s fun being Donna Karan.
